“Srimad Sudhindra Tirtha, the present pontiff of Sri Kashi Math samsthan, fits the definition of a genius in more aspects than one.

Here is a Maadhva ascetic of our times, who has composed 30 stotras in chaste Sanskrit. The number of verses composed by Sudhindra Tirtha is a whopping 500!! A feat which could be envied by a full-time Sanskrit scholar of yore.

Nearly 350 of these are composed using the popular Anushtup Chandas, while Trishtup chandas is used in around 50 verses. Swamiji uses even complex meters and vrattas like Sragdhara, Shardula Vikridita with ease (the vrattas used in Hari Vayu Stuti).

The stotras include Baadarayana Suprabhata, Vedavyasa Sahasranama stotra, Bala Vyasa stotra in addition to Ganga Stotra and Praarthana Stotras.

The stotras also refer to a lot of incidents from Mahabharata, Ramayana, Bhagavata and other Puranas and Vedic scriptures. The tenets Madhvacharya’s Tattvavada philosophy are spread across these works.”
